Janoel is a highly experienced educator, facilitator and sector advocate with more than 25 years working across schools, community and tertiary education. She is passionately committed to advancing menstrual cycle awareness as essential, evidence-informed health education and to strengthening community confidence in how we support young people through puberty.
Her leadership in this space grew from founding and facilitating Step Into Womanhood, a mother–daughter coming-of-age program she delivered for over a decade in schools, community settings and retreat environments. Through this work, Janoel has supported hundreds of families to approach puberty with confidence, respect and open communication, helping young people feel informed, empowered and proud of their changing bodies.
Janoel currently works as an Education and Training Consultant with headspace Schools & Communities, delivering mental health literacy and early intervention training to primary and secondary school staff across Victoria. She has led statewide wellbeing and engagement programs, delivered respectful relationships education with Jesuit Social Services, and partnered with school leaders to embed trauma-informed, strengths-based practice.
As an Associate Facilitator-Educator with the Groupwork Centre, Janoel trains professionals and community leaders in reflective, inclusive group facilitation. She also plays a key role in training Celebration Day for Girls facilitators internationally, contributing to the growth, quality and integrity of menstrual cycle education globally.
Known for her warm, grounded presence, Janoel creates engaging, safer learning environments that balance evidence-informed practice with compassion and a touch of fun. Her work is informed by trauma-aware, neurodiversity-affirming and youth mental health frameworks.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Monash), Graduate Certificate in Training Management, Advanced Diploma of Group Facilitation, Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and Steiner Teacher Training, along with current First Aid certification and a Working With Children Check.
A mother of two young adult children, Janoel enjoys walking along Merri Creek in Melbourne’s inner north, yoga, gardening, cooking, dancing and reading widely — especially neuroscience and psychology.
