About the Chalice Foundation
While the Celebration Day for Girls workshop was birthed by Jane Bennett in 2000 she had already spent years prior to that training health practitioners and creating resources for Natural Fertility Management. In 2017 Jane, together with colleagues, harnessed decades of experience in menstrual education to form the Chalice Foundation. The purpose of the foundation is to gather and channel the expertise of educators to promote menstrual wellbeing, quality menstrual education and above all a positive menstrual culture.
The Chalice Foundation is a not-for-profit social enterprise. All profits from activities remain within the organisation to further support our mission to promote a positive menstrual culture for the benefit of us all.
Training new facilitators for Celebration Day for Girls occurs under the umbrella of the Chalice Foundation. Each CDG facilitator organises her own events and contributes part of her workshop income to the Chalice Foundation.
Today, as we celebrate a rising tide of menstrual awareness, menstrual activism and widely-available menstrual education for all, we look forward to menstrual education and policy becoming key features of all gender equity actions, public health initiatives, workplace and social policy, as well as life-long education.
We are committed to providing respectful, inclusive services where all can feel safe, affirmed and celebrated.
The Chalice Foundation respectfully acknowledges the traditional owners of country throughout Australia, and First Nation peoples around the world. We recognise their continuing connection to land, waterways, culture and community, and honour the wisdom of the life-affirming rites of passage that were, and are in many cases still, practiced on these lands and in these communities.
